Nana
plays sitar, bouzouki and sings in Greek, Yoruba, Hindi and English.
She often combines her unique sound with the cello and didgeridu, or
the glass armonica and tanpura. She weaves lush choral vocals over odd
rhythms played by master percussionist Arto Tuncboyaciyan on doumbek
and other middle eastern drums. Her melodic and rhythmic textures, although
new to the ears, are accessible and appreciated by a wide audience throughout
the world. |
